Summer Vacation 2003

Wendy and I went to Durango, Colorado June 15-20, 2003. Durango is located in the southwest corner of the state. It sets 6,512 feet above sea-level. My grandparents live in this town, and I have been there many times. I visited fairly often while I lived in the Denver Metro area.

Durango is not an easy place to get to. It takes 7 hours to drive there from Denver. There are a two flights a day to the local airport, the La Plata County Airport. If you fly, prepare yourselves for a bumpy ride in and out of Durango. In the summer, the turbulence can be spectacular.

There are many things to do in Durango. We can recommend it as a vacation spot.
