The train was going 69mph. The kids in the car thought they could outrun the train, then tried to slow down when they realized they couldn't. Too late. They were at 30mph when the train hit them. All 5 in the car died. Note how far the train travels even when full-tilt emergency braking is employed. Moral: do not try to pit a Ford against a train. |
