I bet people throughout the world, whose English is not colloquial, and who don't understand Onion humor will have taken the "interview" seriously and will quote it for years to come. After all, if there are people who still believe in Atlantis aand claim its remains were recently discovered in the middle of landlocked Bolivia (in Oruro, at 3700 meters altitude), why not believe this too?
